CARE INSTRUCTIONS
All SnowRipper Apparel is fully washable, but it's crucial to follow the care guidelines below to maintain the quality of your garments.
Preparation: Before washing, zip up all zippers and secure all Velcro. This prevents damage to zipper sliders and teeth, as well as Velcro from collecting lint or snagging other clothing.
Washing Machine: Always use a front-load washing machine. Avoid top-load washers with agitators, as they can harm your SnowRipper outerwear or clothing.
Wash Settings: Choose a gentle cycle with cold water, which helps preserve waterproofing and the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating.
Detergent: Use a detergent specifically designed for outerwear, like Nikwax Tech Wash. Regular detergents can clog technical fabric pores and compromise the DWR coating, reducing garment performance.
Drying: Hang dry in the shade or tumble dry on low heat. Excessive heat can damage or melt fabric, zippers, and trims. For the best results, stop drying when the garment is nearly dry, then switch to no heat or hang dry to finish. Low heat can also help reactivate waterproofing.
Reapplying Waterproofing: Over time, the DWR coating will wear off, especially when exposed to contaminants like smoke, oil, or campfire residue. Restore its performance by following the washing instructions and using a wash-in or spray-on waterproofing product such as Nikwax TX-Direct.
Avoid Using the Following on Your Garments:
Bleach: Causes colors to fade and damages waterproofing.
Fabric Softener: Clogs the pores of technical fabrics and reduces waterproof/breathability performance.
Iron: May harm technical fabrics or melt them altogether.
Dry Cleaning: Chemicals used in dry cleaning can damage the technical fabric's performance.
Please note, any damage caused during improper washing is not considered a manufacturerβs defect and will not be covered under warranty. Follow these steps to keep your SnowRipper garments in excellent condition for years to come.
